Club Skate

Club skaters with MCFSC are skaters who are in Basic Level 4 or above. Club skaters are usually skaters who want more than 30 minutes of skating per week and may want to compete in figure skating competitions.

To become a full Club member, the skater and one parent (if skater under 18) must both join. Annual memberships are paid in June, which includes full USFSA membership, MCFSC club membership and a subscription to USFSA monthly magazine. The parent membership also includes full voting privileges at the club’s annual meeting.

Ice for club skaters is purchased on a contract basis for each ice session. Typically there are 3 sessions in the fall/ winter and 1 session in the summer. Summer ice schedule is available by April and Fall-Winter Ice schedule is available by September. Sessions are pre-purchased during the registration period for that session by either 45 minute or 60-minute increments depending on Club Ice time and day.

Club Ice skaters are not required to have a skating coach, however, because you are pre-purchasing 45-60 minutes of ice, younger skaters may not be able to fully utilize their time without coaching assistance. Club ice coaches are arranged by the skater’s family. Director, Chris Pawlowski, can help with the arrangements for coaching if needed. Coaches must be members of MCFSC and approved by the MCFSC Board of Directors. Coaching fees are separate from any Club Ice contract fees and are between that skater/parent and the coach. Private lessons vary in time depending on the coach.
